Oshun’s Day

Today’s Friday, Oshun’s day. She’s seen as the embodiment of love, sexuality, music, the arts and human pleasure. I mean look at her. She’s absolutely stunning and she loves the hell out of herself.  You can always catch her in the mirror smiling brightly at her reflection. She has her favorite dress that she always washes. She’s always tasting honey and sometimes offering it to others. Now, that’s what I call loving energy. But she’s not always sweet. I’ll touch on that somewhere down the line. But the main thing to take from our beloved is to LOVE YOURSELF AS WELL. Yea, that includes that too if your mind’s in the gutter. Again, for the people in the back who can’t hear, LOVE YOURSELF. It’s one of the secrets to life. 

Here’s another prayer, mantra, spell, affirmation or whatever for self-love. 

Oshun, orisha of love, life, pleasure and happiness, help me to find what makes me happy. Help me find ways to love and honor myself. Work with me, guide me, show me that self-love isn’t selfishness, it’s a form of love for all. If I don’t love me, who else will? If my cup of love is empty, how can I pour into others. Most of all, help me to love my higher self.  Ase.

Feel free to light candles as you do this. Preferably yellow and white candles. Be sure you don’t burn the house down either.
