Osiris and Mastery of the Mind

Set was jealous of Asuar (Osiris) and dismembered him because Asuar was very assured of himself. His parts were scattered along the Nile. The Nile in this case was the subconscious. His body parts were mental fragments. His penis was a symbol of his manhood.

After he was made whole again, it was still missing. Auset (Isis) reminded him about how great of a man he was and fashioned him a new one.

Auset  in this case represents love, whether it’s a love of someone close or the love of self.

Asuar was made whole. He then visited the underworld. This is the dark night of the soul. He rose again as the netjer of resurrection.

He was named the king of the underworld because he conquered it. He conquered the dark night of the soul, which was his lowest point or lower self. Set was the obstacle in the way which forced Asuar to conquer himself.
